The Experience

What Is This Experience?

In just 60 minutes, you'll learn the story behind one of Japan's most beloved songs — and sing it together, live, to real piano accompaniment. No experience needed. No Japanese needed, to start.

A short cultural introduction in English → trying the Japanese words together → live piano → singing as a group. That's the whole flow — no rehearsal, no pressure.

Why Furusato

Furusato
My Hometown

Almost every person in Japan learns this song as a child. It's about the seasons, missing home, and the people you love — the quiet feelings that don't always translate into words.

When we explain what the lyrics mean, something changes in the room. That moment — right before everyone sings — is the whole reason this workshop exists.

You're also welcome to request a Japanese song other than "Furusato."
If there's one that means something to you, we'd love to hear about it.

I'm Yuko — a pianist, bilingual host, and voice coach. I spend my time connecting people through music and language.

Music crosses borders in a way words sometimes can't.

My hope is that you leave with more than a photo — a small piece of Japan you can carry home, and maybe even sing to someone you love.
